Businesses in Central Asia and the Caucasus are narrowing the focus of IT investment compared to global trends. Cloud technologies, cybersecurity and data analytics tools will be the focus in 2025, according to a KPMG technology survey.
According to the study, 93% of companies in the region plan to invest in XaaS, a model that delivers IT services through cloud services. This is driven by businesses' desire to increase flexibility, reduce capital expenditure and accelerate innovation.
70% of companies in Central Asia and the Caucasus plan to invest in cybersecurity and 63% in data analytics tools. Despite the fact that working with data has moved to the third track in recent years, analysts note that market leaders continue to develop tools for data quality management and modelling.
The survey found that only a small proportion of organisations plan to invest in artificial intelligence, low-code automation, quantum and edge computing. However, the majority of organisations surveyed expect to cover all key areas of IT innovation in the next five years.
At the same time, the survey did not reveal any significant barriers to the development of IT projects in the region.
