The National Bank of Tajikistan and the International Finance Corporation discussed prospects for cooperation in the development of the financial sector. A meeting between NBT Deputy Chairman Gulbahor Naziri and IFC Country Representative in Tajikistan Farrukh Sultanov took place in Dushanbe, according to the press service of the National Bank of Tajikistan.
The main focus was on the digitalization of the financial sector and the accessibility of innovative services.
The parties also explored opportunities to expand cooperation in the banking and insurance sectors, the implementation of joint projects such as the initiative “Support for the Digital and Innovative Development of the Financial Sector,” and strategies to enhance financial inclusion.
Particular attention was given to improving digital literacy among the population, especially among young people. The IFC representative assured that the corporation would continue to support the National Bank of Tajikistan in promoting innovations, transitioning to a cashless economy, and creating a sustainable financial system in the country.
